Paul
Finkbeiner's association with Paul Keller dates back to 1983 when Fink
was a member of Keller's Grand Rapids, Michigan-based 10-piece band
Daddy-O. Finkbeiner has been an important member of the BOPO and PKO
since 1990. His moniker, "The Iron Man" is well deserved as
he handles both lead trumpet duties and jazz solos with equal aplumb.
Because of his stellar musicianship and formidable jazz improvisation
skills, Paul is in great demand as a sideman throughout Michigan. Paul
is also a talented composer and arranger, contributing many fine charts
to both the PKO and PKE libraries. He is featured on many jazz CDs including
Paul VornHagen'sSwing As You Are,
Bess Bonnier's Suite
William, the PKE's Tall Corn
and Steady Gig and
the PKO's Project X,
Paris Blues, BINGO!,
A Tribute to Count Basie
and A Tribute to Benny Goodman.
Paul Finkbeiner is a valued member of the Paul Keller Ensemble which
plays every Wednesday night at the Firefly Club in downtown Ann Arbor,
MI and a member of Phil Ogilvie's Rhythm Kings which plays every Sunday
afternoon at the Firefly Club. Finkbeiner also leads his own excellent
Jazz quartet called The Atmospheric Disturbance Band. Paul Finkbeiner
is a graduate of Kearsley High School in Flint, Michigan and Western
Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He keeps a full schedule
of private trumpet students and is a member of the faculty of the Ann
