The Paul Keller Orchestra/A Tribute To Count Basie was recorded live in concert on Sunday, October 22, 2002 at Temple Beth-El in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The Windsor/Detroit Jazz Club sponsored this special jazz event and the Paul Keller Orchestra shined as they paid tribute to the great Count Basie. Bassist/leader Paul Keller says, "Count Basie has always been one of my heroes. The PKO loves to play his music and hip listeners dig it, too!" |
On this CD, pianist James Dapogny plays inspired solos that are faithful to the Count Basie tradition. Drummer Pete Siers swings like crazy! The PKO sounds great! This is a fun CD filled with many familiar Basie classics from 1933 to 1958. |
